A racist woman has been lambasted for stalking and trying to block a black man from entering his own luxury apartment, before calling the cops on the poor man, on the basis of his race.

Facebook user D’Arreion Nuriyah Toles shared videos of his ugly encounter with the racist woman as he attempted to enter his building in St. Louis, Missouri, where the woman also lives. Claiming that she felt “uncomfortable” with Toles entering the apartment, the woman who was walking a small dog on a leash demanded to know the man’s name and where he was going.

Even when Toles told her that he lived there, the woman did not believe that he belonged and proceeded to follow him despite Toles telling her that he is uncomfortable with her following him.

Toles eventually reached his apartment but was surprised to find the police at his door 30 minutes later, because of a complaint the woman lodged.

Sharing two videos of the encounter, Toles wrote on Facebook:

“To be a black man in America, and come home. Woman tries to stop me from coming into my building because she feels insecure, Downtown St. Louis luxury loft, because she don’t feel that I belong, never really thought this would happen to me, but it did! Then 30 mins later police knock on my door, because she called! I was shocked this is America in 2018!”

Toles’ Facebook post quickly went viral, garnering over 50,000 reactions, 120,000 shares and over 3,500 comments. Thousands of netizens lambasted the woman and praised Toles for keeping his cool and being respectful even in the face of such blatant racism:

As the videos of the encounter went viral, some netizens tracked the woman down and exposed the woman’s identity online. It appears that the woman subsequently lost her job due to her behaviour.

Toles, however, urged his supporters to refrain from bashing the woman and asserted that he does not want a witch hunt. In a later Facebook post, the man wrote:

“Don’t bash the women just send her positive waves of energy…Let’s be great people this is our world and this message is to everyone of all ages/ races/ colors/! We only get one life so let’s make the most of it and be great, no time for negativity!”

Despite Toles’ appeal, netizens are asserting that the woman deserved to lose her job.
